Creating solutions for fashion Industry factory waste fabrics
Throughout my career, I have been acknowledged as a highly experienced and skilled fashion designer and educator with over 20 years of experience in the industry.
I have developed a method for utilizing pattern waste fabrics during the design process of garment production.
This method involves considering the usually disregarded pattern waste area pieces and creating additional garments from them during the pattern layout phase.
By using the waste area shapes during the design phase, it is possible to create panel dresses, skirts, kilts, and capes using radial projection.
The method involves viewing the garment pattern layout in the big picture to design with and utilize the stacks of same shape pieces made during the garment cut out.
This method is important because it allows designers to design with fabrics that would otherwise be considered waste and send to landfills.
The designs created using this method have their own unique style and are a great addition to collections.
The method can be easily implemented through the use of radial projection and assembling the pieces into cylindrical forms.
This cutting-edge method has the potential to significantly reduce production waste and greenhouse emissions in the garment industry.

In these images we se clothing that uses small same shape pieces that can be pulled from the remnant shape areas and then additional garments can be made with the fabrics that are usually thrown away.
